Henrico Milestones: Oct. 20, 2026

Reynolds Community College President Paula P. Pando received the 2026 Liderazgo Visionario Award from the National Community College Hispanic Council, which honored her at its leadership symposium in Washington, D.C., in September. The council cited her work expanding educational opportunity, strengthening student outcomes and building partnerships. Pando, a Glen Allen resident, became the fourth president of Reynolds in 2018, overseeing significant transformation at the college whose student body is made up of 12% Hispanic/Latino students. A first-generation college graduate and daughter of Chilean immigrants, she also serves on the board of directors of the American Association of Community Colleges and is a two-time Aspen Presidential Fellow. Reynolds earned Achieving the Dream Leader College recognition earlier this year.
