Halloween Hustle 5K brings together Richmond-area families caring for kids with rare illnesses

More than 200 people gathered at Deep Run Park in Henrico County on Sunday for the seventh annual Halloween Hustle 5K and Kids Run, an event celebrating families affected by childhood illnesses.

The event was organized by Better2gether, a nonprofit that supports Central Virginia families whose children have rare and complex medical conditions.

With more than 7,000 rare diseases affecting children, Better2gether Executive Director Stephanie Becker said there is a significant need for resources and support that help families feel understood and less alone.
