Student performers from SPARC will present Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella at 7:30 p.m. July 24, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. July 25, and at 2 p.m. July 26 at the Henrico Theatre, 305 East Nine Mile Road. This Broadway adaptation of the classic musical features new characters, a hilarious libretto, surprising twists, and an unforgettable score from Rodgers & Hammerstein. The Henrico Theatre Company will present Leading Ladies at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen at 7 p.m. July 24-25 and at 3 p.m. July 26. Down-on-their-luck Shakespearean actors, Leo and Jack, hear that dear old Florence in Pennsylvania is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long-lost English nephews whom she has never seen. Leo and Jack transform into nephews Max and Steve in a bid to grab the cash–but complications arise. The comedy, written by Ken Ludwig, is a mix between Some Like It Hot and Twelfth Night. Goldfish Swim School - Richmond West End, located at 9782 Gayton Road, will host Plants, Palms & Pool Floats on Saturday, July 25 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Celebrate summer vibes in a heated indoor pool while surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant pool floats. Ingredients for an ice cream float will be available. Tickets are $9.31 on Eventbrite.
Making Spirits Bright Night, a fundraiser to benefit the Henrico Christmas Mother, will be held Saturday, July 25 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Virginia Cliffe Inn, 2900 Mountain Road in Glen Allen. The evening will include dinner, cocktails and dancing. Festive, tropical cocktail attire is encouraged. The Henrico Christmas Mother program provides food as well as new clothing, books, toys and other gift items to qualifying Henrico County families, disabled adults and seniors during the holiday season. Yächtley Crëw will perform at After Hours Concerts at The Innsbrook Pavilion on Saturday, July 25 at 7 p.m. This seven-piece SoCal band started the "yacht rock" craze when they burst onto the club scene in 2017. They were noticed by legendary performer Jimmy Buffett, who signed them to his own Mailboat label prior to their new deal with Earache/Universal Records. Some of the hits from their set list include Boz Scaggs’ “Lido Shuffle,” Ace’s “How Long,” Robbie Dupree’s “Steal Away,” the Bee Gees’ “How Deep Is Your Love,” and Christopher Cross’ “Ride Like the Wind.” Gates open at 5:30 p.m. The Innsbrook Pavilion is located at 4901 Lake Brook Drive in Glen Allen.
