The Autism Society of Central Virginia's 5K & Family Fun Day will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16 in Innsbrook's North Shore Commons, 4951 Lake Brook Drive. This family-friendly event features a competitive 5K run/walk and a one-mile walk for those who want a shorter, more flexible route. An awards ceremony will celebrate race winners and top fundraisers. Dozens of organizations, autism service providers and local businesses will participate in a Resource Fair and a new Safety Fair will feature local first responders. There are two sensory zones as well. All funds raised will provide support for autistic individuals and their families in Central Virginia. Click here for details and to register.

Meadow Farm, 3400 Mountain Road in Glen Allen, will host its 4th Annual Farm Field Day on Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn about agricultural practices, trades and crafts of days past. Local craftsmen and businesses will be demonstrating their trades and selling wares. There also will be crafts for kids and food trucks. Admission is free. Click here for details.

One Voice Chorus and the OVC orchestra will present Faure's Requiem, along with a selection of new and favorite choral pieces, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 at J.R. Tucker High School, 2910 North Parham Road. A facilitated conversation about diversity and inclusion will take place one hour before the concert. Tickets are $15. Walkerton Tavern, 2892 Mountain Road in Glen Allen, will celebrate its 200th anniversary with a celebration on Sunday, May 17 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to tours of the tavern and historic games on the lawn, there will be musicians in 1800s-era costumes playing period music. There also will be opportunities to learn about Walkerton’s role as a post office, tavern and voting precinct during the Civil War and Battle of Yellow Tavern. Admission is free. The Jack Hinshelwood Trio will perform Sunday, May 17 at 3 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Road. As a former executive director of The Crooked Road: Virginia's Heritage Music Trail and a 20-year member of the Celtibillies, Hinshelwood has been keeping Virginia's Blue Ridge music traditions alive and well for over 50 years. Through his work as a singer, songwriter and award-winning multi-instrumentalist, he has entertained audiences with a broad swath of traditional and Americana music on guitar, fiddle, harmonica and vocals. His most recent recording, 50 Years in the Making, features fiddler Michael Cleveland, among many others. The concert will take place on CACGA's outdoor Center Field with general admission seating.
