Obituary - Jacquetta Grace Minor
Jacquetta Grace Minor, 68, of Glen Allen, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Carlyle E. Minor, in 2010 and brother, Highter J. Minor, in 2023.
Jacquetta received her education through the Henrico County School System, attending Brookland Middle School and later Hermitage High School, where she graduated. During her high school years, Jacquetta displayed a God-given gift for drawing and artistic design, often sketching dresses and shoes. Her handwriting was exquisite and reflected her attention to detail and creativity. She was also recognized as one of the first female students to receive a certificate in Auto Mechanics Training. Following high school, Jacquetta pursued a career as a caregiver and became a private nurse's aide.
She was a kind, sincere and reserved woman. She was reared in Springfield Baptist Church, Glen Allen, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Though she faced trials and obstacles throughout her life, as we all do, Jacquetta continued to seek God and strive to live according to His will in her later years.
Jacquetta loved listening to music and her smile was infectious. She treasured spending time with family and friends whenever she had the opportunity. Her warmth, gentle spirit and caring nature touched the lives of many.
Jacquetta deeply loved her family and friends and especially desired to care for her mother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her because of her beautiful soul, compassionate heart and unwavering love for others.
Left to cherish her precious memory her devoted mother, Gertrude G. Minor; two aunts, Pearl Minor and Eleanor A. Johnson (devoted); nephew, Luke G. Allen; sister-in-law, Regina Minor; a host of cousins, other loving family members and friends, three devoted, Benny Adkins, Reverend Christine Garcia and Victoria Mae Allen.
Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. where viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2026. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 21 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens.
