Henrico Police arrest 27-year-old man in connection with shooting death of 26-year-old man
Henrico Police officials have arrested a 27-year-old Henrico man and charged him with second-degree murder in connection with the May 27 shooting death of a 26-year-old county man.
The incident took place in the 0 block of North Fern Avenue in Highland Springs shortly after 3 p.m. Officers arrived to find the victim, Kahli Percy Andrews, unresponsive in the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
Members from Henrico Police’s Criminal Investigations Section responded to document and investigate the shooting. After a brief investigation, they developed Deondre Demetrius Thomas as a suspect and took him into custody at the scene without incident.
In addition to the second-degree murder charge, he also faces a charge of using a firearm during the commission of a felony.
