Affordable Housing Trust Fund partners

Partnership for Housing Affordability, Housing Opportunities Made Equal of Virginia, Maggie Walker Community Land Trust, LISC Virginia, Richmond Habitat for Humanity and Virginia Housing will participate in a Henrico County affordable-housing open house Sept. 24. Henrico reports that 472 homes have been approved for support through its Affordable Housing Trust Fund and that 87 have been purchased at reduced prices by qualifying first-time buyers. Full Circle Grief Center

Full Circle Grief Center, located at 5511 Staples Mill Road, Suite 301, is beginning several fall support programs. Its Pathways to Parenthood group for adults experiencing grief related to infertility, surrogacy, adoption or pregnancy after perinatal loss begins Sept. 21 and will meet every other Monday with ongoing registration. The center also is offering fall groups focused on perinatal loss and loss related to overdose or substance use. For details, visit fullcirclegc.org.

Henrico Humane Society

Henrico Humane Society is holding additional adoption events during September while the Henrico Police Animal Shelter undergoes renovations, an effort the organization says is intended to keep animals out of the shelter during construction. Richmond Animal League

Richmond Animal League will host its annual Woofstock festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 26 at 4951 Lake Brook Drive in Glen Allen. The free event raises money and awareness for animal rescue and adoption and will include vendors, a pet parade, adoptions and live music. Last year's event attracted more than 3,000 people and more than 60 vendors. For details, visit ral.org.

Virginia Voice

Virginia Voice will mark its 48th anniversary with a celebration from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at James River Cellars Winery, 11008 Washington Highway in Glen Allen. The fundraiser will support the organization's radio-reading and audio-description services. For details, click here.

Feed More

Feed More is observing Hunger Action Month throughout September and estimates that one in nine Central Virginia residents experiences food insecurity, including one in six children. A monthlong food drive includes Richmond Ford West, 10751 West Broad Street in Glen Allen, as a donation site. Feed More also is accepting food donations at its 8020 Villa Park Drive headquarters. St. Joseph's Villa

St. Joseph's Villa is participating in the 2026 Birdies for Charity program through Oct. 11. Donations of at least $25 made through the program will receive a 10% bonus, with proceeds supporting the Villa's special education, mental health and housing services for children and families. Virginia Hands & Voices

Virginia Hands & Voices and children's author and Zola's World founder Narita Snead will host an 'Every Voice Belongs' event Sept. 28 at Fairfield Area Library. The program will focus on representation, accessibility and inclusion. For details, click here.
