Virginia Hands & Voices

Virginia Hands & Voices and children’s author and Zola’s World founder Narita Snead will host an “Every Voice Belongs” event today, Sept. 28 at Fairfield Area Library. The program focuses on representation, accessibility and inclusion.

Henrico Humane Society

Henrico Humane Society concluded a month of extra shelter adoption events Sunday while the Henrico Police Animal Shelter undergoes renovations. The organization continues to seek foster homes for shelter dogs and cats; its next listed adoption event is Oct. 24 at the Staples Mill Petco.

St. Joseph’s Villa

St. Joseph’s Villa continues to participate in the 2026 Birdies for Charity program through Oct. 11. Donations of at least $25 made through the program receive a 10% bonus, with proceeds supporting the Villa’s special education, mental health and housing services for children and families.
