Henrico Doctors', Parham Doctors' hospitals earn U.S. News recognition for patient care

Henrico Doctors' Hospital and Parham Doctors' Hospital have been recognized among the nation's top hospitals in the 2026-2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings.

The recognition includes Henrico Doctors' Hospitals — comprised of Henrico Doctors', Parham Doctors' and Retreat Doctors' hospitals — which also were named among the best regional hospitals in the Richmond metropolitan area.

The hospital system earned "High Performing" ratings in nine procedures and conditions, including heart bypass surgery; hip and knee replacement; pacemaker implantation; colon, prostate and gynecological cancer surgeries; as well as treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and heart attacks.

"Being recognized by U.S. News & World Report reflects the unwavering commitment our physicians, nurses and colleagues bring to every patient, every day," Jessica Kirby, vice president of quality for HCA Healthcare's Capital Division, said in a statement. "These honors highlight our focus on delivering safe, high-quality care and continually improving the experience and outcomes for the communities we are privileged to serve."

The rankings evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide across 14 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions, with only 16% earning a Best Hospitals designation. Hospitals receiving "High Performing" ratings ranked among the top performers nationwide for the specific procedures and conditions evaluated.

According to U.S. News & World Report, the rankings are based on objective measures including patient outcomes, risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and patient experience.
