Western apparel, footwear and accessories retailer Tecovas will celebrate the grand opening of its new Short Pump Town Center store with music, refreshments and giveaways from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 4-5 and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 6. Barefoot Joe will provide live entertainment, with performances on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There also will be complimentary in-store services, such as personalized leather stamping and branding, boot shines and boot stretching. Free sparkling water and local beers will be available all day throughout the weekend. In addition, the first 50 shoppers each day will receive a Tecovas gift bag.
Grove Eye Care’s new office in Henrico County will officially open to patients on Sept. 21. The 7,500-square-foot location will be at Regency, 1404 North Parham Road, Suite F1. The practice is relocating from its longtime home at 3601 Grove Avenue in Richmond. Owner Dr. Jerry Neidigh also sees patients in Midlothian. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with representatives from Henrico, Regency and ChamberRVA, as well as members of the Richmond business and healthcare communities, will take place Sept. 29.
Primrose School of Glen Allen broke ground last Wednesday on a new early childhood education facility that will transform a vacant former pharmacy building in Henrico County's Brookland District. Franchise owners Zeel Desai-Patel and Ritesh Patel plan to invest approximately $9 million to convert the 11,421-square-foot building at 9501 Staples Mill Road (most recently home to a Walgreens) into a childcare facility serving infants through age five. Plans also include an outdoor play area. The school is expected to serve as many as 160 children and create more than 20 jobs. Primrose Schools is a national network of accredited, independently owned and operated private preschool franchises.
Starling International Childcare & Learning Complex purchased in July a former Atlantic Union Bank branch in the West End to use as the childcare company’s third location, Richmond BizSense recently reported. The 11,000-square-foot building at 1773 North Parham Road will be Starling’s first center designed specifically for elementary and middle school-aged children. The facility, which is expected to open early next year, joins Starling’s other locations on Starling Drive and Quioccasin Road.

Caskey, Inc. – leased 2,933 SF at 4441 Cox Road (Catherine Walker and John Carpin represented the landlord); and Century Concrete LLC – leased 6,501 SF at 1043 and 1045 Technology Park Drive (Malcolm Randolph, John Carpin, Jimmy Martin and Catherine Walker represented the landlord, and Pat Mugle represented the tenant).
