Burlington donates $5,000 to Chamberlayne Elementary
Chamberlayne Elementary School received a $5,000 donation from Burlington Stores Inc. Sept. 25.
Principal Charlie Goad, Jr. and school family advocate Emely Riera Pineros joined Fairfield School Board Vice Chair Ryan Young, Henrico County Public Schools leaders, the Henrico Education Foundation and Burlington representatives at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the retailer’s new store at 8155 Brook Road, near Parham Road, to receive the check.
"I am elated that Burlington chose Chamberlayne Elementary School for this donation. It will continue to support the work we are doing at Chamberlayne,” Goad said.
The donation was made through Burlington’s partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, a national nonprofit. Goad said the funds will be distributed among grade levels and specialized programs to directly support students.
“The great thing about this donation is that it goes straight to our teachers,” Goad said. “They know their students best and can use these funds to meet individual student needs and can enhance the learning environment with instructional materials, supplies for school-wide clubs and resources that create more opportunities for students to be recognized for their successes."
