Cap2Cap, an annual bike ride fundraiser event for the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation, will take place May 9-10 along the Virginia Capital Trail, a paved pathway stretching between Williamsburg and Richmond. This is Cap2Cap's 20th ride. The family-friendly cycling event offers several distance options, beginning with a seven-mile family fun ride and topping out at rides of more than 100 miles. Participants not only will enjoy scenic views of farmlands, forests and river crossings but also a fully supported course, stocked rest stops, and a flexible, open-start format. Twentieth anniversary Cap2Cap celebrations will take place May 9 at Chickahominy Riverfront Park in James City County and May 10 at Dorey Park in Henrico. An Art & Makers Market will be held rain or shine at Willow Lawn on Saturday, May 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be more than 40 artists and artisans selling fine art, custom clothing, jewelry, craft spirits, baked goods and more. Pirate Dog Cards & Collectibles will host PokeBash 5 RVA on Saturday, May 10 from noon to 7 p.m. at The Answer Brewpub, 6008 West Broad Street. The event will feature top TCG vendors for a day of buying, selling and trading. There also will be a specialty Pokemon Brew just for the event, local DJ Eddo Face, and food from The Answer Brewpub and Mekong. Admission is a suggested donation of any amount to the Richmond SPCA. The Richmond Makers Market returns to The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen on Saturday, May 10 from noon to 6 p.m. Meet 40+ local artists and makers while shopping for unique handmade goods. Henrico Federal Credit Union and Henrico Recreation and Parks will present the inaugural Henrico SkyGlow on Saturday, May 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Crump Park in Glen Allen. During the event, one hot air balloon will offer tethered rides. Tickets are $15 per adult and $10 per child age 10 and under. Tickets cannot be purchased in advance, only on-site once the event begins. All parties must be present when ride tickets are purchased. Additionally, there will be a small kids zone, vendors, music, and food for purchase. At 7:30 p.m., 10 hot air balloons will inflate.
