Varina Strong Fair planned Aug. 29 at Dorey Park

American Legion Varina Post 233 will host the Varina Strong Fair Saturday, Aug. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon at Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Road in Henrico.

The event, presented in collaboration with the Dorey Park Farmers Market and Henrico Recreation and Parks, will feature a car, truck and bike show; Scout demonstrations; line dancing; face painting; food; music; games; vendors; giveaways and safety demonstrations.

Free school supplies will be available, and the event also will include teacher appreciation activities, prizes and information about veterans' claims and benefits.

The vehicle show will award prizes for first, second and third place.
