Sports Backers plans Henrico events ahead of November marathon
Sports Backers has announced two upcoming community events in Henrico and is advising residents that the sold-out Allianz Richmond Marathon route will extend into parts of the county in November.
The organization's Fall Fit Fest is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Sports Backers Active Living Hub at 4921 Lakeside Avenue. General admission is free. The sixth annual Fall Line Trailblazer will take place Nov. 7 at three locations along the planned regional trail. The Henrico event will be a children's art walk along the Woodman Road connector trail between Glover Park and the Fall Line trail, near Woodman and Winfrey roads. The Allianz Richmond Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14. Organizers say the marathon has reached its 7,200-participant capacity, and registration has closed. The course begins in downtown Richmond, travels through portions of Henrico and returns to a finish near Brown's Island.
