Two 17-year-old boys died and a third was injured in a one-car crash that happened at about 11 p.m., Aug. 10 in Glen Allen.

The crash happened at the intersection of Fords Country Lane and Nuckols Road near I-295. Arriving Henrico Police officers found a Telsa Model Y with significant damage and two of the teens on the ground near the vehicle with obvious signs of trauma. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The third male teen was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the vehicle was traveling west on Fords Country Lane when it ran off the left side of the road and struck multiple trees. The driver and back seat passenger were ejected from the vehicle and later died from their injuries. The third teen remained in the front passenger seat with non-life-threatening injuries. Crash Team investigators are continuing to look into what may have caused the crash and whether seatbelts were used. They believe speed may have been a factor.
