Storms knocked out power to 50,000 across Central Virginia
Roughly 11,500 Dominion Energy customers across Virginia remain without electricity after powerful storms swept through the Commonwealth Sunday. That number is down from nearly 79,000 during the peak of the outages Sunday evening.
Roughly 50,300 customers were without power in Central Virginia as of 7:30 p.m., according to Dominion Energy. Most of those outages were concentrated in Henrico, Hanover, New Kent and Richmond. But that number had dropped to just over 16,000 as of 11:45 p.m. Sunday and 7,627 by Monday morning.
