Richmond SPCA Fur Ball to support veterinary care
The Richmond SPCA will hold its 28th annual Fur Ball Saturday, Nov. 7, at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, with proceeds benefiting the nonprofit's Cinderella Fund for veterinary care for homeless animals.
The pet-friendly black-tie fundraiser is presented by Moore Subaru of Richmond. The organization has set a $1-million fundraising goal, matching the amount it has budgeted to spend on veterinary services for sheltered animals during the coming year. The Richmond SPCA says the fund helps provide treatment and rehabilitation for more than 3,500 sick, injured and neonatal pets, representing about 80 percent of the animals it cares for annually.
The event includes a pet parade and presentation of the Ellen Glasgow Award for Humane Service. This year's recipient is Deborah Rider Allen, recognized for nearly 15 years of volunteer work, philanthropy and advocacy, including facility support and pet visits with her adopted dog, Bohdi, to memory care residents.
An online auction with more than 90 packages closes at 11 p.m. Nov. 7. Raffle tickets are available at richmondspca.org/raffle, with the drawing scheduled for Monday, Nov. 9.
Tickets to the 2026 Fur Ball are already sold out but those interested in attending next year's gala can email jjones@richmondspca.org to be added to the mailing list.
