The Original Ronnie’s BBQ, 2097 New Market Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: chemical spray bottles are unlabeled; walk-in racks are rusty; there is a torn gasket on walk-in and small freezer; observed ice buildup in white freezer; walk-in is leaking a lot of condensation; there are gaps in hood filters; grease found on cookline equipment; there is buildup on racks throughout and on pipes in dish area; floors and walls are in need of cleaning around and under equipment; observed grease buildup on hood.
Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co., 9669 West Broad Street – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: hand sink in dishwashing room doesn’t have paper towels; temperature of honeycomb pastry on counter is elevated; bug spray, lubricant and Tylenol are stored next to food, paper cups and glass cups; wet wiping cloths are not stored in a sanitizer solution in between uses; coffee stirrers are stored in ambient temperature water; y-connector attached to mop sink doesn’t have the proper backflow prevention device installed.

Vampire Penguin, 11345 Nuckols Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: temperatures of taro drink, coffee, milk and whipped cream in glass door refrigerator are elevated; restroom doesn’t have a covered trash can.

Greek Cuisine, 11214 Patterson Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: person in charge doesn’t have food protection manager certification; there is a spoon inside the hand sink and a dessert pan sitting on top; walls are damaged in the dishwash area and plastic coving is coming off the wall; reach-in cooler has a torn door gasket; temperatures of moussaka and meatballs in lowboy and soup in reach-in cooler are elevated; temperature of pan of baked pasta in lowboy is elevated and it has exceeded the time limit to cool.
Pho 79, 6909 Staples Mill Road – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: there are no signatures on the employee health policy; facility couldn’t provide written procedures for cleaning up vomit and diarrhea; observed many personal drinks on food prep surfaces throughout kitchen; hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; there is a heavily dented and leaking can of sauce; bowl of rice is sitting on top of raw beef and packaged cucumbers are sitting on top of raw chicken in the walk-in; dried food debris found on meat slicer blade and surfaces and on can opener blade; observed buildup of food debris in microwave; temperatures of raw beef, raw chicken, brisket and tenderloin in lowboy coolers are elevated; did not observe a date marking system in the kitchen (pho broth, rice and cooked meats are held over 24 hours and aren’t date marked); the time control policy is so faded that the food items are not legible; non-food safe bleach is being used for three-compartment sink; several personal medications are stored on food prep surface; a large container of white powdered soap is uncovered without a lid next to bulk food containers also containing white powdered food substances (salt, sugar, MSG); multiple containers of white powdered substances next to cookline and in dry storage are unlabeled; buckets that previously held chemical cleaning agents are being reused to store raw chicken and tofu; several food items are stored directly on floors (meats in freezer, spices in dry storage, and pho broth, tofu and raw chicken in buckets in walk-in cooler); rice spoon is stored in ambient temperature water; bulk sugar scoops are stored in the bin so the handles are touching the sugar; one cold unit isn’t cold-holding properly; racks are rusted throughout kitchen, walk-in, freezer and dry storage; unused equipment should be removed from the facility (extra meat slicer, mixer and many pots/pans); several items/areas are dirty (dish machine exterior, bulk container lids, vents and guards in walk-in cooler and freezer and inside prep units, and cold unit gaskets); observed dried food debris and grease residue on sides of hot line equipment; there is dried food debris on blender bases and small convection oven; grease buildup found on hood vents; large ice buildup found in walk-in freezer; observed dust and food debris buildup on shelves and racks; observed buildup of grime on floors and walls around cookline equipment and under large stationary equipment; there is a direct plumbing connection at three-compartment sink; there is low grout and missing/cracked floor tiles throughout kitchen; coving and thresholds are in disrepair; some ceiling tiles are missing; one light bulb above cookline is missing a shield.

Yellow Umbrella Provisions, 5001 Libbie Mill East Boulevard – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: there are dried food debris and stains more than 24 hours old in the microwave; bottles of salad dressing are missing information on labels; working container of salt is unlabeled; staff in kitchen area aren’t wearing hair restraints; temperature in display case cooler is elevated; dried food debris found on reach-in cooler door gaskets; there is dust on black wire storage rack in kitchen and walk-in cooler ventilation.
Panda Express, 4501 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: men’s restroom doesn’t have paper towels; dishes are stacked while still wet.
Quickway Japanese Hibachi, 4501 South Laburnum Avenue – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: open employee drink found on rice table; pitcher is in the hand sink; person in charge couldn’t provide parasite destruction letter from sushi salmon provider; many heads of cabbage are stored on rusted, dirty racks in walk-in cooler; chlorine sanitizer concentration is too low; tuna is thawing in walk-in cooler while still in reduced oxygen packaging; shrimp is thawing in food prep sink without running water; two sushi knives are stored in ambient temperature water; cardboard is being used as lids for bulk sugar and flour bins; two cutting boards are heavily scratched; observed dried food debris on racks throughout kitchen and walk-in, exteriors and in drawers of equipment on the cookline, teriyaki sauce burners, and gaskets of all cooling units and walk-in cooler and freezer; spray nozzle attached to mop sink is under continuous pressure without the proper backflow prevention device installed; observed buildup of grime and food debris under three-compartment sink, in the mop sink, and under/around stationary equipment.

Lakeside Grill, 6920 Lakeside Avenue – The following violations were reported during a follow-up inspection: the manufacturer wrapping on fryer and backsplash on cookline should be removed; temperature of bottom of make table is elevated; broken plastic containers and lids are in use; facility couldn’t provide sanitizer test strips; spray hose attached to mop sink doesn’t have the proper backflow prevention device installed.
Last Chance, 5114 Richmond Henrico Turnpike – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: there is no certified food protection manager on site; there are no handwash signs posted in men’s or women’s restrooms; dish room hand sink doesn’t have paper towels; dried food debris found inside microwave; facility couldn’t provide sanitizer test strips; deep fryer baskets and reach-in cooler door gaskets are dirty; observed dried food debris, stains, residue and grease residue on stove top and sides of cooking equipment; there is flour residue on wire rack next to deep fryer; neither women’s restroom or staff restroom has a covered trash can; dried food stains found on walls in kitchen; there is dust on ceiling tile in kitchen; observed grease and dust on hood filters.
Burger King, 5450 Glenside Drive – The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: ice chest under drive-thru soda machine is rusty; there is grease residue on sides of deep fryers and wall behind them; reach-in freezer door gaskets have food debris in them; observed food debris and grease residue on fry warmer unit; food debris and stains found on rolling cart; ceiling tile is stained near burger oven.
