Obituary - Michael Anthony Waldron
Michael "Mike" Anthony Waldron, 64, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, surrounded by the loved ones who meant the world to him, sending him home for the eternal rest his body so desperately needed.
Born on May 11, 1962, Mike lived his life as a true servant to others. He possessed a rare and genuine kindness, consistently asking how he could help those around him up until the very day he died.
A proud graduate of Douglas S. Freeman High School, Mike carried his passion for service into a long and fulfilling career. He spent more than 30 dedicated years at Ukrop’s Supermarkets, a job he truly cherished. Mike adored his colleagues across every role, treating everyone he met with equal respect and warmth. Later in life, he continued his leadership in the community, managing Goodwill Stores, Libbie Market, and A.W. Shucks.
When he wasn’t working or helping others, Mike could be found cheering on his favorite teams—the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees—or finding peace on the water, spending as much time as he could in Deltaville.
Mike was preceded in death by his beloved father, Thomas Anthony Waldron.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Betty Jane Waldron; his brothers, Mark Allen Waldron and Matthew Adrian Waldron (Dagney); and his three daughters who were his pride and joy: Ashley Waldron Spadaro (Jay), Anne Taylor Britton (Andy), and Lydia Waldron Williams (Hunter). He was the incredibly proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Parker, Callie, Piper, Preston, and Louise.
Mike’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all of the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who looked after him with such compassion and skill, especially his sweet Christine.
