Obituary - Patricia Riley Coleman
Patricia "Pat" Riley Coleman, 73, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 9, 2026. Born and raised in Henrico, Virginia, Patricia brought infectious energy, warmth, and light wherever she went.
Patricia lived her life out loud and in full color. She had an unwavering passion for spreading fun and joy, which was evident to anyone who met her. Whether she was working in her garden, enjoying time at the YMCA, quietly volunteering with various local charities, or wearing one of her signature t-shirts stamped with messages of kindness, positivity, and love, she made the world around her brighter. Above all, Pat adored her grandson Coleman; they shared a special bond, always staying connected through text chats, lunch dates, and sharing a great cup of coffee. Pat believed deeply in lifting others up and living each day with a generous heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roland Thomas Coleman, Sr.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Cheryl Coleman Barrow, and son-in-law, Christopher Barrow; her stepson, Roland Thomas Coleman, Jr.; her cherished grandson, Coleman Nathaniel Barrow; her loving brother, Larry Riley, and sister-in-law, Tammy Riley; as well as extended family and a wide community of friends who will deeply miss her radiant spirit.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Chippenham Hospital for the exceptional and compassionate care provided to Pat. Special thanks to Jordan, John, Emil, Emily, Heather, and Kim in the Arrhythmia Care Unit, whose care brought Pat so much comfort, as well as Selena, Katie, Aiden, Sara, and Dewitt in the MSTICU for their unwavering support and kindness.
A time to gather, remember, and celebrate her life will be held at Bennett Funeral Home (Chesterfield Chapel, 14301 Ashbrook Parkway, Chesterfield, VA 23832):
Visitation: Friday, August 14, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Celebration of Life Service: Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

In true honor of Pat’s bright spirit, the family kindly requests that guests wear vibrant colors, favorite joyful t-shirts, or tie-dye. Please leave traditional black attire at home—she would want us to gather in full color.
