Highland Springs native among finalists for 'Top Host' podcast competition
Highland Springs native and Highland Springs High School graduate Brittney Tennyson is competing in Colossal's national Top Host competition, which raises funds and awareness for the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports children in hospitals.
Tennyson, who hosts the Richmond-based podcast She's A Ten: One on One with Brittney Tennyson, is seeking to advance in the competition for a chance to win $25,000, host a six-episode podcast produced by iHeartRadio and appear on On Air with Ryan Seacrest. Her existing podcast highlights Richmond-area talent and community leaders.
As of Oct. 27, Tennyson ranked third in her group, with more than 100 supporters voting for her daily, according to Tennyson. The competition's Top 10 round concludes Thursday, Oct. 29.
"This experience has been incredibly meaningful because this is my hometown standing behind one of its own," Tennyson said. "Watching my family, my friends, and my whole community show up for me day after day has meant everything."
The competition benefits the Ryan Seacrest Foundation through grants administered by Action Initiative Team, a nonprofit organization that serves as Colossal's grant-making partner.
Supporters may cast one free vote every 24 hours or make donations to receive additional votes. To vote for Tennyson, visit her official competition page.
