Henrico supervisors to consider budget amendments, environmental grants Sept. 22
Henrico County supervisors will consider amendments to the county's fiscal year 2026-27 budget and applications for state funding for two stream-restoration projects when they meet Tuesday, Sept. 22.
The Henrico Board of Supervisors will begin the day with a special meeting at 3:15 p.m., followed by its regular meeting at 6 p.m. at the Henrico Government Center, 4301 East Parham Road.
During the special meeting, supervisors are scheduled to receive updates about the county's East End water extension project and opioid-abatement grants.
The board also is scheduled to enter a closed meeting for consultation with legal counsel concerning 2026 Virginia legislation related to marijuana.
Budget amendments on regular-meeting agenda
During the 6 p.m. regular meeting, supervisors are scheduled to hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to Henrico's fiscal year 2026-27 budget.
The amendments would adjust appropriations in the county's operating and capital budgets to account for additional revenues, grants and other funding that were not included when supervisors adopted the county's roughly $2-billion budget in April.
Henrico seeking funding for stream-restoration projects
Supervisors also will consider resolutions authorizing Henrico officials to apply for state stormwater funding for two environmental projects.
One application would seek funding for a stream-restoration project at Three Lakes Park. The project is estimated to cost approximately $2.2 million, with the requested state grant covering 50% of the cost.
A second application would seek funding for a stream-restoration project at Reynolds Community College. That project is estimated to cost approximately $800,000, with the requested grant again accounting for half of the anticipated cost.
If the resolutions are approved, the county would be authorized to submit the applications; approval of the resolutions would not itself constitute an award of state funding.
The board's agenda also contains a number of routine resolutions, appointments and other administrative matters.

The regular meeting begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22 in the Board Room at the Henrico Government Center, 4301 East Parham Road.

People who register in advance will speak first.
