Henrico hospitality businesses, manager named finalists for 2026 Ordinary Awards
Two Henrico County businesses and a hotel manager are among the finalists for the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association’s 2026 Ordinary Awards, which recognize standouts in Virginia’s hospitality and tourism industry.
Intermission Beer Company in Glen Allen is a finalist for Brewery of the Year, while The Westin Richmond is in the running for Lodging Property of the Year. Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa’s Leidy Stinson is one of three finalists for Lodging Manager of the Year.
The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa in Glen Allen also will host this year’s Ordinary Awards celebration Sept. 15, when winners in the statewide competition will be announced.
Intermission Beer Company is competing for Brewery of the Year against Bunnyman Brewing Company of Fairfax County, Iron Pipe Alewerks of Orange and Southern Reserve Cellars of Louisa.
The Westin Richmond is one of three finalists for Lodging Property of the Year, joining Liberty Trust Hotel in Roanoke and Tributer Resort in Mineral.
Stinson is competing for Lodging Manager of the Year against Valencia Norwood of Ocean Key Resort and Kelsey Souther of Home2Suites by Hilton Virginia Beach Princess Anne.
The Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association hosts the awards to recognize businesses, organizations and professionals who help create memorable experiences throughout Virginia, event organizers said. This year’s program includes more than 20 individual and organizational awards spanning the state’s restaurant, lodging, attraction and tourism sectors.
“Every year, the Ordinary Awards remind us just how much talent, creativity and dedication can be found throughout Virginia’s hospitality and tourism community,” VRLTA President Eric Terry said. “This year’s nominees represent an exceptional cross-section of our industry, from the frontline professionals who make every guest feel welcome to the businesses and organizations that help Virginia remain a world-class destination.”
Nominations for the awards are open to VRLTA members and non-members, with finalists selected by a panel of industry professionals. Eligible nominees include restaurants, food trucks, hotels, resorts, bed-and-breakfasts, campgrounds, breweries, wineries, distilleries, cideries, attractions, venues and tourism organizations, among others.
The 2026 awards also introduce New Restaurant of the Year and New Lodging Property of the Year honors for qualifying businesses that began operating in 2025 or later. For the first time, the public is helping select the winners in those two categories.
All finalists will be honored at the Stars of the Industry Reception immediately before the Sept. 15 Ordinary Awards reception at the Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa. Winners will be announced during the awards show that evening.
