The Solomon Organization says it has purchased two West End Henrico apartment communities for a combined $143 million.

According to an Oct. 28 announcement from the company, the transaction includes Broadmoor Apartments, a 360-unit property at 9475 West Broad Street, and Tuckahoe Creek Apartments, a 388-unit community at 1500 Honey Grove Drive. The two complexes contain a combined 748 apartments.

Solomon said it plans interior and exterior renovations and operational improvements at both properties. The company described the acquisition as its entry into the Richmond market and said it already owns seven other communities elsewhere in Virginia.

The company, founded in 1977, said it manages more than 23,000 apartment homes in 10 states.
