Jain Society of Central Virginia

The Jain Society of Central Virginia, 8704 Park Central Drive, is preparing for the start of its new Pathshala academic year. Restoration Fellowship Christian Center / Operation R.E.A.C.H.

Restoration Fellowship Christian Center's Operation R.E.A.C.H., 4908 Creedmore Street, provides a free Saturday food pantry and clothing closet and operates REACH MOBILE food delivery for residents who lack adequate transportation. The ministry reported serving more than 31,641 meals and says its mobile program is responding to a growing number of residents in need of food. For details, visit rfccva.org.

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Glen Allen will hold its Feast Day parish picnic and a welcome celebration for its new pastor Sept. 26, preceded by a 5 p.m. Blue Mass honoring first responders and medical personnel. The parish also will host a Nativity of Our Lady Mass Sept. 18 in partnership with the Roman Catholic Indian Community and the Diocese of Richmond's Asian Ministry. Staples Mill Road Baptist Church

Staples Mill Road Baptist Church reported Sept. 8 that its 9:30 a.m. service had become significantly larger and asked 40 to 50 members to consider attending another service time. The church listed recent attendance of 46 at 8 a.m., 307 at 9:30 a.m. and 213 at 11 a.m. Pastor Jim Booth and his wife, Joy, also thanked the congregation following a celebration of his 20th anniversary at the church.
