Glen Allen bakery Frostings has permanently closed, according to a June 16 Instagram post. Located at 4336 Pouncey Tract Road, Frostings was seen on season 4 of Food Network's Cupcake Wars. It was owned by Mike Lindsey and Kim Love-Lindsey of Lindsey Food Group, who purchased the bakery from founder Matt Fraker in 2023.


Arizona-based coffee chain Dutch Bros is planning to open a location at the corner of West Broad Street and Bremo Road, Richmond BizSense recently reported. The spot at 5816 West Broad Street previously housed a Zaxby’s. According to a development plan filed with Henrico County, the drive-thru-only coffee shop will add two service lanes. There are currently no Dutch Bros locations open in Virginia, though the company has announced plans for Chester and Virginia Beach.


Lucky AF opened June 27 at Short Pump Town Center, Axios Richmond recently reported. It is located near Lehja in the former Baker’s Crust spot. Owner Eat Restaurant Partners describes Lucky AF – which stands for Asian Fusion – as a “fresh and fun take on the modern sushi restaurant.” Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Happy Hour is from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. each weekday.
