Wizard Bins & Auctions, a discount bin-store chain, is planning to open early this fall at 6031 Nine Mile Road in the Newbridge Square Shopping Center, Richmond BizSense recently reported. The company sells overstocked items and online returns sourced from retailers like Walmart, Target and Amazon. Items are restocked weekly and start at $10 on Sunday. Prices are discounted throughout the week until they hit $.25 before inventory is refreshed again. The 57,000-square-foot store is expected to have 60-80 bins of items. A similar store, Where Ya Bin, opened in the West End in early 2025.

Preschool franchise Ivybrook Academy is planning to open in time for the upcoming school year at 10498 Ridgefield Parkway in the Gleneagles Shopping Center, Richmond BizSense recently reported. The 6,400-square-foot space is situated partly in the former Awful Arthur’s Seafood restaurant location. The half-day preschool for children 18 months to six years old will have six classrooms and indoor and outdoor play areas. Local owner/operator Chris Campbell says Ivybrook’s curriculum blends Montessori and Reggio Emilia teaching methods.

Thalhimer Multifamily recently welcomed Jayanna Carroll as associate of client services. Carroll first joined TMF as a summer intern in 2025, supporting system initiatives, participating in monthly departmental meetings, and assisting with prospective resident tours. In her new role, she will support business development and pre-development efforts through market research, project programming, proposal development, and the creation of client-facing materials. She also will help coordinate communications and project milestones among internal teams, ownership groups and third-party partners, as well as assist with client communications, property tours, events, reporting, and other initiatives designed to enhance the overall client experience. Carroll graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2025 with a degree in real estate and finance.
