Empowering Boss Ladies: Women’s Business Center RVA Celebrates Five Years of Success

The Women’s Business Center RVA (WBCRVA) is a beacon of empowerment, support, and success for female entrepreneurs. The nonprofit organization, located in the Willow Lawn area, recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. The center aims to uplift the women of Virginia who serve as mothers, leaders, aunts, CEOs, grandmothers, teachers and the backbone of our society.

More Than Just Office Space

Located at 1510 Willow Lawn Drive, WBCRVA is a hub for women to start, build, and sustain their businesses. The center goes beyond the traditional office space concept by offering co-working spaces, virtual memberships, mailbox rental services, events, training, counseling, access to resources and monthly seminars on marketing, finances and social media.

“We call you family for a reason,” says Shirley Crawford, the executive director and co-founder of WBCRVA. The center prioritizes the success and well-being of women entrepreneurs, aiming to eliminate unnecessary hurdles on their journey to success.

Services Offered by WBCRVA

• Co-Working Spaces – For those who need more time to be ready for dedicated office space, WBCRVA provides a flexible co-working environment. With a nominal fee, members become part of an inspiring and dynamic community of Boss Ladies.

• Virtual Memberships – Virtual members benefit from mailbox services, consulting time, seminar discounts, and monthly co-working hours. WBCRVA understands that success extends beyond physical spaces, and virtual members are integral to the community.

• Consultation and Education – Recognizing the pitfalls that entrepreneurs may face, WBCRVA offers consulting, coaching, and educational resources. The center focuses on putting entrepreneurs on the right path to avoid unnecessary challenges.

Boss Ladies Who Tea

WBCRVA actively engages with its community through events like the “Boss Ladies Who Tea” event, held annually at Meadowbrook Golf Course. The event brings together women for tea, networking, and inspiration. The center believes in celebrating the achievements of women entrepreneurs and providing a platform for their stories to be heard.

EmpowHER Awards: Recognizing Impactful Women

The EmpowHER Awards are a prominent initiative unveiled during the “Boss Ladies Who Tea” event. The center actively seeks nominations for women who have left a lasting impact, sparked positive transformations, and uplifted others. The occasion serves as a platform to highlight the commitment and leadership demonstrated by women within the community.

Sponsorship Opportunities: Supporting the Cause

WBCRVA actively seeks support from the community to continue its mission. The center offers various sponsorship levels, providing businesses with opportunities to contribute to the success of women entrepreneurs. From title sponsorship to in-kind contributions, every level of support is valued and recognized.
