10th Annual Henrico County Public Safety Games to take place May 4
Henrico County's Police and Fire divisions will compete in a friendly fitness competition May 4 at Richmond Raceway to earn the title of the "Fittest Public Safety Division of the Year" as part of Henrico's 10th Annual Public Safety Fitness Games.
The final competition will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the raceway's Old Dominion Building; doors open at 5 p.m.
Ten athletes each from the divisions will go head-to-head in four different fitness challenges focused on strength, cardio, work capacity and a relay.
In addition, a DJ will be on site, an a dance team performance is planned. There also will be food trucks, doors prizes (restaurant gift cards, clothing, Flying Squirrels items, a Yeti cooler, golf items, and more), and Star Wars themed photo-opportunities for “May the 4th be with you!” including a visit from The 501st Legion. Star Wars themed attire is encouraged.
The event is sponsored by the Henrico Firefighter Foundation, Cranemasters, Inc., 5.11 Tactical, MISSION BBQ, Henrico Police Athletic League, James River Equipment, Richmond Flying Squirrels, Aramark, and Henrico County government.
Community members are encouraged to atetnd and support the first-responders.
