Henrico Recreation and Parks will host a Movie in the Park on Friday, Oct. 10 at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center. The movie will be "Beetlejuice" (1988, PG, 92 minutes). Curtain Call's Fall Consignment Sale will take place Oct. 10-12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the former JC Penney's at Regency Mall. Items for sale include window treatments, furniture, rugs, lamps, mirrors, artwork, floral arrangements, bedding, silver, china, designer handbags, boutique clothing and fur coats, high-end holiday decor, and more. The sale continues Tuesday through Sunday (closed on Mondays, Oct. 13 and 20) until Oct. 26. Items will be gradually discounted starting Oct. 21. Celebrate the science of entomology through activities and learning opportunities at the 2025 Bug Bizarre on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Deep Run Recreation Center. Hosted by the Henrico County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension, the event features live insect displays, speakers, and educational booths on subjects such as pollinators, common garden insects and forest pests, and insects and public health. Admission is free and open to the public. The Virginia Bridal & Wedding Expo will take place Sunday, Oct. 12 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Richmond Raceway complex. There will be a large variety of wedding professionals to meet with including photographers, florists, bakers, makeup artists, caterers, bands and musicians, DJs, jewelers, event planners, and more. There also will be representatives for gowns and tuxedos, honeymoons, venues, invitations, decor and transportation, among others. Prizes and giveaways will take place throughout the day and attendees can sample food and watch a fashion show. Admission is free with online registration or $10 at the door. Henrico Recreation and Parks will host Awesome Autumn Afternoon at Dorey Park on Sunday, Oct. 12 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Activities will include hayrides, a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony rides and an autumn craft.
