Chesterfield man sentenced to 15 years in Henrico animal cruelty, fraud case

A 27-year-old Chesterfield County man was sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined $25,000 Sept. 23 after pleading guilty in Henrico Circuit Court to six felony counts of animal cruelty, a misdemeanor animal cruelty charge and three felony computer fraud charges stemming from what prosecutors described as a scheme in which he injured cats and used videos of the animals to fraudulently solicit donations online.
