Virginians may now preview 2027 health plans through Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace before open enrollment begins Nov. 1.

The enrollment period will run through Jan. 29, 2027. This is the only time Virginians can enroll in a Marketplace plan or switch plans. After the open enrollment period, only consumers experiencing a qualifying life event (such as getting married or divorced, having a baby, or losing health insurance) may be eligible to enroll.

A new Virginia Premium Savings program could reduce monthly premiums by as much as 70% for qualifying consumers. State officials estimate average savings of $65 to $90 per person per month, depending on household size and income.

Individuals and families earning between 138% and 250% of the federal poverty level may qualify. Funding will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Consumers may compare plans, use a savings calculator and find free in-person assistance at Marketplace.Virginia.gov. The assistance center is available at 888-687-1501.
