Ukrop's recalls nearly 23,000 lbs of products over metal contamination
Ukrop's Homestyle Foods is recalling six products after metal slivers were discovered in baking pans used to prepare them, with the USDA issuing an official recall Friday covering approximately 22,880 pounds of baked spaghetti and chicken cobbler products.
The recall covers products produced between July 1 and July 29, 2026, with best-by dates ranging from July 6 through Aug. 5, 2026. No injuries have been confirmed.
The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service said the problem was discovered after a consumer complaint about a metal piece found in a fully cooked product. Ukrop's said a small sliver of aluminum was also found during a routine internal review of baking pans. The baking pan supplier has been notified and has taken steps to remove all potentially affected pan lots from distribution.
