Stranger found upstairs in bed at Henrico home shot dead after argument, police say
A man is dead after residents of a Henrico home came home to find a stranger lying in an upstairs bed, sparking an argument that ended in a shooting Friday night, police said.
Steven Alan Jones, 39, of Gloucester, was found dead in a bedroom at a home in the 1600 block of Hilliard Road around 10:30 p.m. Friday, according to Henrico Police. Officers were sent to the scene after reports of a shooting.
Three adults — two men and a woman — were held for questioning. Police said two of them, a man and a woman, came home that night and found Jones in a bed upstairs. A third man was already inside the home when they arrived and said he had not noticed anything unusual before Jones was found.
No charges have been filed.
