Shady Grove Coffeehouse opens 25th season Oct. 3

Shady Grove Coffeehouse will open its 25th season Saturday, Oct. 3, with a 7:30 p.m. concert by Susan Greenbaum at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 11105 Cauthorne Road in Glen Allen.

The folk music series, founded in September 2001, has presented more than 200 concerts. Its current season calendar also includes Greg Greenway Nov. 7, Dana Robinson Jan. 9, From China to Appalachia Feb. 6, Newberry and Verch March 13, The Honey Dewdrops April 10, and Dom Flemons and The Traveling Wildfires May 12 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen.

Except for the May 12 performance, concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Children 12 and younger are admitted free, and tickets for teens ages 13-18 are half price.
