Henrico officials are helping a Western Henrico homeowner remove the work of a vandal who spray-painted a hateful message on the homeowner's fence, according to Three Chopt District Supervisor Misty Roundtree.
Roundtree posted on Facebook that the fence on a property along Springfield Road was spray painted with the message "SELF DEPORT" in white paint.
"I’ve spoken with the homeowner – this was not done with their knowledge or consent," Roundtree wrote in a post. "I want to make clear that this is a crime, and if anyone has information about who committed it, please reach out to me or [Henrico Police].
"This is intolerable in a county as diverse, inclusive, and accepting as Henrico, and I will do everything within my power to ensure that our residents and visitors know that they are welcome here, no matter what the color of their skin or country of origin may be."
Anyone with information about the incident should call Henrico Police at (804) 501-5000.
