As temperatures remain high across the Richmond region, the Salvation Army is opening its cooling center, in partnership with the Richmond and Henrico governments, June 11 and 12.

The center, located at 1900 Chamberlayne Avenue in Richmond, is open to adults 18 and older from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 11 and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 12. it will be closed Saturday but could reopen Sunday, depending upon the forecast.

The center offers air conditioning, hydration, snacks, and a safe place for adults to cool off.
