Richmond airport to host TSA PreCheck enrollment event Oct. 6-9

Richmond International Airport will host a TSA PreCheck enrollment event Oct. 6-9 at the Business Center on the terminal’s second floor.

Appointments will be available from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Travelers may apply for or renew a membership through IDEMIA, an authorized TSA PreCheck enrollment provider.

The program is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals and lawful permanent residents. Applicants must provide identity and citizenship documents, have fingerprints and a photo taken, and pay the application fee. If approved, IDEMIA’s enrollment fee is $76.75 for a five-year membership.

Following the in-person enrollment appointment, most applicants receive their Known Traveler Number (KTN) in approximately 3-5 days. The KTN number must be added to flight reservations in order to use TSA PreCheck benefits.

Airport officials recommend completing the online application before arriving. Enrollment information and appointments are available through the IDEMIA TSA enrollment site. Program information is available at TSA.gov.
