Primrose School of Glen Allen celebrates groundbreaking at former Henrico Walgreens site
Primrose School of Glen Allen broke ground Wednesday on a new early childhood education facility that will transform a vacant former pharmacy building in Henrico County's Brookland District.
Franchise owners Zeel Desai-Patel and Ritesh Patel plan to invest approximately $9 million to convert the 11,421-square-foot building at 9501 Staples Mill Road (most recently home to a Walgreens) into a childcare facility serving infants through age five. Plans also include an outdoor play area.
The school is expected to serve as many as 160 children and create more than 20 jobs.

Henrico Supervisors Daniel J. Schmitt and Misty D. Roundtree and Henrico Economic Development Authority Executive Director Cari M. Tretina were among those in attendance to participate in Wednesday's groundbreaking ceremony.
