Pedestrian hit and killed on I-295 in eastern Henrico

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash on Interstate 295 near Route 5 in eastern Henrico County.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:14 p.m. Wednesday on I-295 southbound at the 21-mile marker.

"Troopers responding to the scene located a deceased pedestrian in the travel lanes with injuries consistent with having been struck by a vehicle," a Virginia State Police spokesperson said.
