Sherin L. Rose, of Glen Allen, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on June 7, 1939, in Newport News, Virginia, she lived a life defined by devotion to family, a love of music, and a gracious, generous spirit.
Sherin is fondly remembered by her husband, Paul Rose; her sister, Shelly Vickery; her daughters, Kathryn and Cheryl; her grandchildren, Laura, Lisa, Beth, Rachel, Andrew, Jack, and Ryleigh; and her three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Pumpkin and Duncan. An avid vocalist, Sherin sang in her church choir, where she met Paul, and music remained a cherished part of her life. Later in life, she took up the violin, a reflection of her enduring curiosity and appreciation for beauty. She was deeply devoted to her family and found particular joy in helping Kathryn raise her twins, Rachel and Andrew. Sherin also spent time living abroad in Japan, the Netherlands, and France, experiences that enriched her life and broadened her perspective. She will be remembered for her loving heart, quiet strength, and the steady warmth she extended to family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 3PM at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia. A further celebration of Sherin’s life will be held in Glen Allen later this summer.
