Ronald Wordie Pryor of Richmond, Virginia passed away peacefully at the Gleburnie Nursing Home in Western Henrico at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Wordie Pryor and Helen Rae (Pflanz) Pryor and his dear wife of 46 years, Arlynn (Menachem) Pryor. Ronald is survived by his two sons, Daniel Pryor and Joseph Pryor; and step-sons Brian Housman (Amy) and David Housman (Melissa).

Ron, as he was known to almost everyone, was originally born in New York state but made his home in the greater Richmond area for many decades. While he lived a troubled life during his early years, Ron eventually took up what became a lifelong study of the Bible which included dedicating his life to serving as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In the years that followed, he became a devoted husband, provider, and helper to many who sought to overcome similar difficulties in their life in search of greater meaning.

Ron also had a great love of the outdoors, especially riding motorcycles and taking care of horses. He also enjoyed carpentry, classic cars, and being on the open road having driven trucks professionally for a number of years. Ron had a mischievous sense of humor as well, as many of his friends and acquaintances could readily attest.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the River Road Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 2737 Hungary Spring Rd, Richmond, VA 23294. A Zoom option is available for those who would like the option of attending remotely.  Please inquire of the family for additional details.
