Obituary - Joshua Palmer Melton
Joshua Palmer Melton, born on March 21, 1997, in Henrico, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2026, at the age of 29. He was a beloved son to, and survived by, Joseph Melton and Autum Maynard; cherished by his stepmother, Jamie Melton, and stepfather, Donnie Maynard. Joshua is also survived by his grandfather, Steve Halterman; devoted brother, Noah Melton (Ryann Peebles); and his loving sisters, Ashley Thompson (William Thompson) and Mackenzie Maynard.
Josh found great joy in the outdoors, developing a passion for kayaking and hunting whenever he could. He also enjoyed spending time at Dominion Raceway, shooting guns and riding ATVs with family and friends. However, he also had a deep connection to his community and his faith. As a dedicated member of his church, he was happiest when working with the young adults at Hope Community Church, always eager to lend a helping hand to others.
Joshua's legacy is defined by his unwavering commitment to assisting those around him, embodying kindness and compassion in all aspects of his life. His spirit will forever be remembered by all who knew him. In honor of Joshua's life, family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Hope Community Church, 8391 Atlee Rd., Mechanicsville, VA, with services to start at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Winns Baptist Church Cemetery, 12320 Winns Church Rd. Glen Allen, VA. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone he touched with his warmth and generosity.
