Obituary - Jo Ellen Coger

Jo Ellen Coger, entered eternal rest on May 3, 2026, at the age of 65. She was born on December 28, 1960, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Randolph Coger Sr. and Ella Chavis Coger.

Jo Ellen attended Richmond Public Schools and graduated from George Wythe High School in 1980. She worked as a production worker at SOAR 365 for many years. She treasured time spent with family and friends and found great joy in gatherings filled with love and laughter. Jo Ellen had a special appreciation for reminiscing on cherished memories and sharing stories of past experiences. She was especially known for her long and heartfelt phone conversations, often spending hours connecting with loved ones while reflecting on life’s meaningful and humorous moments. Above all, she found her greatest pride and fulfillment in her children, whom she loved wholeheartedly.

Jo Ellen leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kiara Coger and Juwann Coger; her longtime partner, Robert Moore; her sister, Judy Harper (Greg); her brothers, Randolph Coger Jr. (Lisa), Jeffrey Coger (Angela), and Derrick Coger (Gwen); her devoted niece, Tiffany Brown (Shelton); along with cherished friends, extended family, and a host of others who loved her dearly.

Jo Ellen will be remembered for her genuine compassion, her ability to make others feel welcomed, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. Her life was a reflection of love, connection, and the importance of family and friendship.
