Obituary - George M. Throckmorton
George M. “Buddy” Throckmorton, 91, of Sandston, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 11, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine and children, Sheila, Karen, and George, Jr. Buddy is survived by his grandchildren, Casie, Allison, Lauren, and Lindsay; six great grandchildren; and devoted care givers, Pam, Vickie, and Cheryl.
He was a 49 year Mason and was a member of Sandston Masonic Lodge # 216 where he was a Past Master. Buddy was also a member of Meridian Lodge # 284 and an honorary member of both Richmond Lodge # 10 and Washington & Henry Lodge # 344.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, with a Masonic Service beginning at 7 pm, Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd. Services will be held 12 noon Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Sandston Baptist Church, 100 W Williamsburg Road. Entombment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
