Obituary - Forrest M. Teller
Forrest “Bud” M. Teller (91) of Richmond, VA passed away on April 10 at home in Glen Allen, VA. He was born Sept. 7, 1934 in Richmond, VA to Marion and Forrest Teller.
Bud grew up in Richmond, graduating from John Marshall High School in Richmond in 1951. He was employed in the finance division of Miller and Rhodes department store for 25 years, advancing to Assistant Controller with a staff of more than 500 employees. His most recent work experience was as Administrator and Treasurer of Hirschler & Fleisher law firm for 19 years. On retirement, the family moved to Southern Shores, NC.
Bud married Nena Teller in 1980 in Richmond, VA. They were happily married for 46 years. He served on numerous community and civic board and committees such as United Way appropriations, Community Association Board, executive of the National Law Firm Managers Association, and member of the Southern Shores Civic Association board, Duck Woods Country Club and the Southern Shores Boat Club. He enjoyed tennis, golf, travel, boating and reading.
Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and a founding member and deacon of the Huguenot Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Nena; daughters Katherine Holcombe and Cathy Teller, and daughter-in-law Peggy Drumheller and son-in-law Mark Drumheller, Glen Allen, VA; sons John Teller, Virginia Beach, VA, and Robert Teller and wife Ellen, Coralville, IA; and three grandchildren William Teller, Chicago, ILL, and Jack Teller and Isaac Teller, Coralville, IA.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his brother; and daughters, Kasi Drumheller and Julie Teller.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, Glen Allen. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
