Charles Furrow, 81, of Henrico, VA, was called home to the Lord on June 14, 2026. He is survived by his beloved wife, June (Sweetheart), their three children, Mark (Mindi), Michelle, and Monica (Matt), as well as their four grandchildren: Makenzie, Riley, Mason, and Jack.

Charles grew up in Shady Spring, West Virginia, where he worked alongside his father on a dairy, beef, and sheep farm. He was a 1962 graduate of Shady Spring High School. Although Charles made a public profession of faith in Jesus at age 14, it was not until he was 29 and read a tract entitled "Religious by Lost" and read Matt. 7:21-23 and realized he had never personally trusted Christ as Savior, which he did at that time.

Charles has been described as the perfect Southern Christian gentleman, a man of dignity and humility. His chief concern was to please the Lord and introduce others to Him. He was kind, full of wisdom and never too busy to lend a listening ear. He had a contagious smile.

Charles and June met 61 years ago when June, working as a reporter-photographer for a Beckley newspaper, was sent by the paper to photograph twin calves born at the Furrow farm. They married the following year, fulfilling June's childhood dream of someday marrying a farmer or preacher. Following their marriage, they lived on the farm for ten years. During this period, it became clear the Lord was leading them to prepare for formal Bible training; they moved to the campus of Appalachian Bible College, where he graduated in 1980. They worked in Cleveland, OH with the Cleveland Hebrew Mission for almost 12 years and have worked in eastern Virginia for the past 33 years with the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, where he was due to retire at the end of this year.

Charles and June have been longtime members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Richmond. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Louise Furrow, and a brother, David Furrow.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 22 at Bliley's, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., in Richmond. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 27th at 1 PM at the Furrow family cemetery in Shady Spring, WV.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry in Bellmawr, NJ.
