Betty worked at Bellwood for 10 years before focusing on raising her three children. She returned to work as a library assistant both at Trevett Elementary School and North Park Public Library, which encouraged her love of reading. For many years, Betty served in Cub Scouts and co-lead a Girl Scout troop as well as joining the PTA and Orchestra Boosters at her children’s schools. Most recently, she enjoyed being a member of the Hilliard Park Garden Club chapter and participating in game day at the Atlee Library twice a month, and attending Henrico County’s Ambassadors Programs for Seniors (HAPS). Travelling abroad to the Caribbean, the UK, Belgium, and to France gave her opportunities to discover new cultures, delicious foods and create beautiful moments with her family. Above all else, Betty treasured her close relationships with her friends and neighbors and her faith in Jesus Christ, the foundation of her hope and joy.
