Notice of Willingness to Hold a Public Hearing
The County of Henrico proposes to provide improvements to pedestrian and vehicular infrastructure to increase safety and accessibility along Nine Mile Road between Newbridge Road and Lee Avenue. Key components include sidewalk improvements, the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps, pedestrian crosswalks, pavement markings, stormwater management, storm sewer, signage, and upgraded bus facilities. The project will include median improvements, install a midblock pedestrian crossing just west of Forest Avenue, and convert an existing four-lane facility into a three-lane facility with a two-way left-turn-lane.
Construction is currently planned for June 2030.

If your concerns cannot be satisfied, Henrico County is willing to hold a public hearing. You may request a public hearing by sending a written request to Department of Public Works, Attn: Kevin Newcomb, P.O. Box 90775, Henrico, VA 23273-0775, on or before June 5, 2026. If a request for a public hearing is received, notice of the date, time and place of the public hearing will be provided.
