Emilie Osterfeld of Henrico recently earned the Student Organization Leader Award for service during the 2025-26 academic year at University of Maryland Global Campus. Student organization leaders develop professionally, strengthen their leadership skills, and build a sense of community as they plan events, collaborate on projects, and contribute to activities.
Henrico residents Shammara Miller and Earl Wilkerson Jr., members of the University of Maryland Global Campus chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success, completed the Foundations of Leadership program during the 2025-26 academic year. Foundations of Leadership is a four-step development program that prepares students to be effective leaders in their lives and careers.
Richard Tangard and Lee Desai of Henrico and John Cinella and Ronni Cinella of Glen Allen will participate in this year’s Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) Aug. 1-2. PMC is a two-day bike-a-thon across Massachusetts, an event that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraiser in the world. Founded in 1980 by Billy Starr – who remains the event's founder and chairman, an annual cyclist, and a fundraiser – the PMC has raised $1.125 billion for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. This year’s goal is $79 million.
Mia Salvi of Glen Allen graduated with a bachelor's degree in Global Leadership Studies and Spanish in May from Belmont University in Tennessee.

Alyssa McGinnis of Henrico graduated with a master’s degree in Social Work May 16 from Miami University in Ohio.

The following local students graduated during the 2025-2026 academic year from Shenandoah University in Virginia: Camden Harrison, John Jordan, Thomas Terry, Scott Fellin and Andrew Payne, of Glen Allen; and Hadeel Sanuot, Tabitha Piwowarski, Xavier Thompson, Ashley Wells, Emily Wentz, Cassidy Wilson, Taion Clanton and Eric MacMillan, of Henrico.
Jeremy Roland of Glen Allen was named to the spring 2026 president’s honor roll at Bismarck State College in North Dakota. To be eligible for this honor, students taking at least 12 credit hours must earn a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
The following local students were named to the spring 2026 dean’s list at East Tennessee State University: Micailah Cook, of Sandston; and Shannon Kearns, Maddox Radcliffe and Caleb Weakland, of Glen Allen. To qualify for this honor, students with at least 12 credit hours must earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester.
The following local students were named to the spring 2026 chancellor’s honor roll at the University of Mississippi: Abigail Campbell, John Davis, Michael Malbone, Gabrielle Mitchell, Elizabeth Shield, Jennifer Stone and Anna Vogt, of Henrico; and Emma Perkins, Elizabeth Gordon and Gavin Rutherford, of Glen Allen. To qualify for this honor, students taking at least 12 credit hours must earn a semester grade point average of 3.75-4.00.
Copeland Thornton and Addison Huffman of Henrico were named to the spring 2026 dean’s honor roll at the University of Mississippi. To be eligible for this honor, students taking at least 12 credit hours must earn a semester grade point average of 3.50-3.74.
Lina M. Dawson of Henrico was named to first honors on the spring 2026 dean’s list at Clark University in Massachusetts. To qualify for first honors, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.8 or higher.
Shayla Wilson of Henrico was named to the spring 2026 dean’s list at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. To be eligible for this honor, students taking at least nine credit hours must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
